If only this game was not still a year away... At least new info continues to flow. Promising.

Cool, looks like they are kind of doing what people asked for and making the ranger a sort of combo of GW1 ranger and assassin.
Also for those of you who haven't heard Anet has said there will be no primary healer in GW2. When I first heard I was pretty about it, but after reading this: http://www.guildwars2.com/en/the-game/combat/healing-death/ I can see what they are going for.

I dont know what that was in the begginning of the spreadshot video (trap? preparation? sprirt?) but I really like the effect, shoot an arrow through it and its on fire.
The GW ranger has been my favorite bow-n-arrow type character from any game I've played - a lot of different play styles (trapping, support spirits, interupts, aoe, conditions, pet, melee 'bunny thumper') although that may have a bit to do with the mechanics of GW vs a game like WoW. |

The thing at the beginning of the spreadshot video was a torch skill, I was wondering too so I looked at some of the forum posts.
Really excited for this Ranger, my only hope is armour that appeals to me more, as of right now I'm rolling Warrior at the start of GW2 then Ranger next. T Valak T, X I V Raven V I X, Kusi Uicides,X V Ghost V X, K U S I

The mechanics of GW are very different from WoW. In WoW you're lucky to have interrupts and when you do they have crazy cooldowns on them that really make them more of a single-use skill to stave off damage for a little bit in solo play. Bosses are different. Either they are completely immune to interrupts or they have a skill that will do massive amounts of damage to the entire party unless it's interrupted. I prefer GW in this regard. It's nice when you have a player that devotes his time to shutting down enemies so the rest of the party can take them down. In WoW raiding and dungeons mostly consist of tank and spank on trash followed by insanely complex battles for bosses. If only GW had kept supporting the existing player base I would never have switched. E: Ronduwil the Red N:Mortelius Thanatos Me:Elvis Pressley R:Ronduwil the Ranger Mo:Stephen Maturin
